My paintings are created intuitively, from a place of instinct and feeling; inspired by a passion for nature and for the magical, often unexplainable parts of life. Brushwork is important to me. In calligraphy, the line is considered to hold the creators energy of being (Qi, life force or Kiai, spirit essence) - this is how painting feels to me, a transference of self (energy, beliefs, feelings, memories) onto canvas through the hand and the brush.

I work in layers of colour, shape, pattern, and line, to create highly expressive, semi-abstract florals and landscapes steeped in freedom, joy and hope.
