My paintings are created from instinct, intuition and a passion for the magical, often unexplainable parts of life. Brushwork is important to me. In calligraphy, the line is considered to hold the creators energy of being (Qi, life force or Kiai, spirit essence) - this is how painting and drawing feel to me, a transference of self (energy, beliefs, feelings, a life lived) onto canvas or paper, via brush or pencil.

I work in layers of colour, shape, pattern, brush mark and line, to create highly expressive, semi-abstract, florals and landscapes which, I hope, evoke a sense of freedom, fun, hope and inspiration.
